In the spring of 2025, John, Gayle, and Maureen met at the weekly Tesla Takedown protest at the Tesla showroom in Raleigh, NC. Although all of us lived in the same residential community, we didn’t know one another, but we quickly bonded. When the Tesla protest started to wind down, we decided to start another protest effort closer to home, at the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Brier Creek Parkway in northwest Raleigh.
We started with the theme “Tariff Tuesdays,” with the purpose of focusing on the economic harm that was occurring as a result of the “Liberation Day” tariffs.
But many folks who joined us were concerned about the numerous issues that were rapidly emerging due to action by the POTUS 47 administration, and so we expanded our focus, changed our name to “No Tyranny Tuesdays,” and organized ourselves as “Citizens Resisting Tyranny.”
In addition to this Substack publication, we maintain a web site, No-Tyranny.org, where we post additional commentary and actions you can take in opposition to the current administration – and in favor of needed change in the 2026 midterm elections!
