One of the most important things that you can do is to reach out to others, to show solidarity and support, or express opposition to the authoritarian takeover. Especially, let elected officials know where you stand on the issues. Let them know that you are watching their actions, and that you will REMEMBER in NOVEMBER.

In North Carolina, you can access the North Carolina General Assembly Find Your Legislators tool, enter your street address, and it will return your NC House and NC Senate legislators. You can then click on the name of the legislator to get their phone, regular mail, and email contact information.
Nationally, most states have a tool similar to the North Carolina search tool, but for any state, you can also use the Common Cause Find Your Representatives tool. The bonanza of contact information returned by this tool includes not only federal and state legislators, it includes all state elected officials, including (in North Carolina) elected state department heads and judges AND local elected officials.

- Enter your address so that contact information will be specific to your elected representatives.
- Review the list of issues, or search for the issue with which you are concerned.
- Read the information and related draft script, make any adjustments you desire to make your own personal point.
- Use the information at the bottom of the page to contact your elected representatives.
