No Tyranny Tuesday Will Be Sunny & Bright – 12/15/2025 – 3:30 – 5:00 pm

Not so sure about the future of democracy, though.

We will be out on the corner at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, this time the sun should be shining; no weather-related excuses will be entertained. Boilerplate details are below.

Now it’s time for our weekly whack at K K K Karoline Leavitt, the perpetually spinning, dissembling, outright lying and insulting, and possibly preggers White House Press Secretary. You may recall last week’s mention of Karoline’s almost-sister-in-law Bruna Ferreira, who was brought to the U.S. from Brazil at the age of six. Ferreira was arrested while on the way to pick up her son (Karoline’s nephew) from school. She was released from ICE detention in Louisiana on $1,500 bail and has returned to Massachusetts pending immigration proceedings.1 Karoline has had no comment, but Ferreira had this to say to Karoline during a interview on CNN:

“You’re a mother,” Ferreira said. “You are a mother now. And you should know. How would you feel if you were in my shoes? How would you feel if somebody did this to you?”

We’re sure that Karoline will be thinking about this as she cuddles her baby son while singing Christmas songs in church on the holiday.

The annual nativity at St. Susanna’s Parish replaces the religious figurines with an “ICE Was Here” sign on Dec. 12. Below the display, reads another sign that says, “The Holy Family is safe in our Church ... If you see ICE please call LUCE at 617-370-5023.” (Jesse Costa/WBUR)

BOILERPLATE:

LOCATION: Public right of way, NE corner Glenwood & Brier Creek Pkwy (near Starbucks, Red Robin, in Walmart shopping center). We’ll be on the elevated grassy area along Glenwood, away from the traffic, and along the sidewalk on Brier Creek Parkway.

PARKING: Park in the adjacent shopping center parking lots but please spread out so we don’t take all the spaces nearest these businesses. They have been very tolerant of our presence; let’s keep it that way.

SIGNS: The grassy knoll area along Glenwood is elevated and safely away from traffic, giving us great visibility along and across the intersection. Don’t have a sign? We have a bunch to share!

BE KIND: This is a peaceful, non-violent demonstration, of course. That extends to avoiding any negative interactions with passers-by. Any rude gestures or angry words should be met with a smile and a wave – and never returned in kind.

  1. Maureen, I don’t know if you watch Saturday Night Live, but last night they did a skit of Trump on Air Force One with KKKKaroline Leavitt, and he was taking questions from the press corps while trying to hide behind a curtain and insult reporters. Meanwhile, KKKKaroline was with him and he was fixated and obsessed with her lips. It looked like he was crushing on her and not even trying to hide it from anyone. Could KKK’s baby possibly be his? Is this a reenactment of “Rosemary’s Baby?” Is she going to spawn the Devil or what? I still like our names for whatever it is. Happy Chanukah! See you Tuesday, G-d willing.

    1. Happy Chanukah, Elise! These are interesting theories! I believe our speculation on these matters is definitely ahead of the curve! Meanwhile wish me luck, I am about to embark on making latkes, in the probably vain hope that there will be no kibitzing on my technique. 🙂

      1. Good luck with the latkes, Maureen. They require a lot of pahtchkeying, as my mom and grandmother used to say. I’ll explain and pronounce when I see you Tuesday. I tried to spell it phonetically. Don’t forget the sufganiyot–jelly filled donuts! And the dreidel too!
